Founder story

Arunas Rutkus: from addiction to service

Arunas Rutkus grew up in a difficult environment marked by addiction and violence. In early adolescence he began smoking and drinking, and later entered a cycle of violence, crime, and imprisonment.

After years of unsuccessful attempts to rebuild life, divorce, and migration to the UK, he experienced the most difficult chapter: homelessness, self-condemnation, and despair. While asking for help from outreach volunteers serving homeless people, he was referred to a Teen Challenge rehabilitation center. On August 3, 2009 he began treatment, completed the program in 2010, and continued serving others there until 2019. Later, together with his wife, he chose to return to Lithuania and build support for people seeking freedom from addiction.

You cannot run away from addiction until you face and resolve it. Our mission today is to help people reclaim dignity, stability, and hope.
